A fire at a waste transfer facility on Hannah Close, Neasden, less than a mile from Wembley Stadium, saw twenty fire engines and around 125 firefighters called after more than 90 emergency calls, according to the London Fire Brigade. An industrial unit roughly 100m by 150m was alight, producing significant smoke that saw local residents advised to keep doors and windows closed. The fire caused the entire Metropolitan line and part of the Jubilee line to be suspended during Friday evening’s rush hour. Crews brought the fire under control by 17:10 on Friday; the cause remains under investigation.
