Poplar, London — Tower Block Fire Evacuates 50 Residents
Status: Confirmed. A fire broke out in a two-room flat on the 17th floor of a 22-storey residential block in Poplar, east London, at 4.35am today, according to Metro. A woman and child escaped the flat before the London Fire Brigade arrived, and around 50 more residents left the building and are currently at a rest centre. Around 70 firefighters brought the blaze under control by 6.41am. The cause is under investigation.
