A Growing Interest in Home Preparedness
Since the government’s emergency kit advice hit the headlines in late August 2026, we’ve seen a sharp rise in ordinary households looking for practical help: what to put in a kit, how to cope with a power cut, how much water to store. These aren’t survivalists. They’re families, pensioners and renters who want to be ready for the disruptions the UK actually faces, such as storms, floods, power cuts and supply problems. We’re happy to talk to journalists about what’s driving that interest and what people are asking.
About UK Prepper Hub
Founded in November 2025, UK Prepper Hub covers realistic preparedness for UK households, not American-style survivalism. The site publishes a daily UK prepper news briefing, practical guides, gear reviews and free printable checklists, alongside daily news videos on YouTube. Our tagline sums up the approach: Prepared. Not Panicked.
About Darren Rhodes
Darren Rhodes is the founder and lead editor of UK Prepper Hub, with over 40 years of practical experience in emergency planning, risk management and household preparedness.
