Daily UK Prepper News — 6 July 2026

Keith The Prepper reporting the daily news

A new heatwave has begun across the UK today, with temperatures reaching 31°C this afternoon and climbing towards a possible 34°C peak in London and the South East by Wednesday or Thursday, under a Yellow Heat-Health Alert running until 11 July. There’s no new food or medicine safety news today, but several FSA and MHRA recalls remain active — check labels before this week’s shop and check in on elderly or vulnerable neighbours as the heat builds.

🌦️ Weather Warnings & Outlook

England — Third Heatwave of the Year Begins, Peak 34°C Forecast Wednesday/Thursday

Status: Confirmed. As reported yesterday (5 July), the Yellow Heat-Health Alert covering the East, East Midlands, West Midlands, South West, London and South East of England runs until 8pm on 11 July. The new development: the BBC Weather reports the heatwave has now officially begun, with temperatures reaching 31°C across the Midlands, East Anglia and South East this afternoon — enough to meet the official heatwave criteria widely over the next few days. Heat will build further from mid-week, peaking around 34°C in London and the South East on Wednesday or Thursday. This spell won’t be as extreme as June’s record-breaking 37.7°C heatwave, but it will last longer — forecasters expect temperatures above 30°C somewhere in the UK for up to 10 consecutive days. Household impact: increased risk to vulnerable people, minor strain on health and social care services, and a higher risk of cold-water shock for anyone cooling off in open water.
