His professional background spans twelve years at management level in local authority leisure, where he developed and implemented Emergency Action Plans across multiple public facilities covering scenarios including flooding, structural failure, gas leaks, bomb threats, power loss, and mass casualty incidents. He holds continuous CPR and First Aid at Work qualifications since 1988, mountain first aid qualification to Dr Ewan Jones standard (the level required for mountain rescue team work), Bronze Medallion life saving, and Pool Lifeguard Bronze Medallion — a specialist qualification encompassing emergency action plans, normal operating procedures, and spinal injury management in water. He is late-diagnosed ADHD and autistic, and preps because it genuinely helps manage anxiety and the need to have a plan. That lived experience shapes everything on this site.
